Position Description

Empower Energies is seeking experienced renewable Project Acquisition Professionals to join its team.

Empower has highly competitive sponsor equity and existing tax equity commitments to build out and operate a portfolio of solar projects across the U.S. We are growing our acquisitions team to seek out attractive opportunities to grow our asset base and efficiently deploy capital.

Our Project Acquisition Professionals will report to the SVP, Business Development and work closely with the Structured Finance team. The position requires a self-starting, creative and motivated individual who has a proven history of successful renewable project acquisitions of both operating assets and assets in development.

The position compensation includes a highly competitive base, project-based incentives, and an attractive benefits package in a growing, dynamic environment with one of the upcoming players in the C&I renewable space.

Job Responsibilities

  • Source solar project and portfolio acquisition opportunities for Empower from your network of industry relationships and contacts
  • Work with SVP, Business Development to qualify opportunities for Empower’s pipeline
  • Manage the interface between the Empower team and the counterparties
  • Lead site diligence in conjunction with internal teams and consultants including critical issue screening, environmental studies, title review, property tax matters, community relations etc.
  • Lead effort to negotiate and sign PPAs for projects.
  • Lead the deal throughout the sales cycle internally and externally.
  • Coordinate internal resources to analyze market opportunities in various geographic areas, product types and contract structures.
  • Follow changes in the solar markets, including policy changes and market developments
  • Provide pricing and proposal feedback to internal teams, whenever possible.
  • Acts as on-site project expert and must be able to communicate effectively with all areas of the organization and understand the impact of decisions on those areas.
  • Work closely with project controls on project approval timing, construction scheduling, project tracking as part of weekly communications with the client and other external professionals.
  • Maintain records for all leads and opportunities.


  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (advanced degree a plus).
  • Minimum of 3 years in a related position
  • Strong track record in acquisitions of operating solar assets and/or solar assets in development
  • Ability to understand and present financial analysis.
  • Awareness of energy solutions, specifically solar, or knowledge of energy systems design and distributed generation technologies is a plus
  • Strong networking and oral and written communication skills.
  • Travel as needed; some evening and weekend work required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Empower Energies’ project development tools a plus (i.e. PVSyst, Helioscope, Base, Atlas, etc).
