Sales Analyst

Position Description

Empower Energies is seeking an entry level Sales Analyst. This individual will report to the SVP of Business Development, working with senior sales executives on solar and related renewable projects.  This position is a great fit for a recent graduate looking to get started in the solar energy industry.  Are you motivated by mission driven work?  Are you a self-starter who spends your free time learning about energy policy and the transformation of the energy economy?  Do you love doing research and working with a team?  If this sounds like you, we want to hear from you.

This is a full-time position located at Empower’s home office in the heart of downtown Bethesda, a trendy and fun urban neighborhood.   Located at Bethesda’s Metro center, the office is easily accessible by commuter train and includes ample onsite parking.  The building offers amenities such as a fitness center, rooftop employee lounge with outdoor deck, periodic social events onsite, and other tenant benefits such as a local farm-to-office food delivery service through 4-P Foods.

Job Responsibilities

  • Research state and federal renewable policies that may benefit the Company’s projects
  • Keep yourself and other team members current on rapidly evolving policies and market trends impacting the Company’s core business
  • Assist completion initial screen of public RFPs for Company to determine alignment
  • Conduct preliminary analysis of regulatory environment and incentive availability for potential projects
  • Collect and analyze market sales data on development opportunities and customers
  • Team with senior sales, operations and finance executives on new project initiatives
  • Support senior sales executives to create and deliver project proposals and RFP responses
  • Serve as liaison to outside marketing firm
  • Represent Company at occasional industry events and meetings
  • Compile, track and report project details to inform pipeline forecasting

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a focus on business, policy or STEM subjects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated proficiency with written and oral communication; proposal writing experience a plus
  • Ability and willingness to travel occasionally for conferences or business meetings
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal business hours during critical deadline periods

  • Strong desire to gain knowledge about the solar/renewable energy industry
  • Proven team player with ability to solve problems and proactively raise potential concerns or issues
  • Competency with software tools and website/social media platforms
  • Comfort with preparation and delivery of informational presentations
