Empower Energies EPC Division to Execute 6.7 MW Solar Project in Sturbridge, MA

Sturbridge, MA September 28, 2023

Empower Energies (Empower) is pleased to announce the execution of a ground-mount solar project totaling 6.7 MW with our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) Services division in Sturbridge, MA. Empower Energies was awarded this project as part of a competitive bidding process by one of the largest renewable energy companies in the United States.

Patrick Corr, COO & CSO at Empower Energies, said, “We are proud to have the opportunity to work with our partners to complete this project in Massachusetts and help move the needle toward achieving the state’s goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.”

Massachusetts passed climate legislation in 2021 that set a Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. In pursuit of this goal, the law has several provisions that promote renewable energy, including requiring utilities to increase their renewable energy generation by at least 3% per year starting in 2025.

Michael Williams, Vice President of Sales at Empower Energies, commented, “We look forward to leveraging our strong relationships in the Northeast to build this ground-mount solar system and demonstrate our EPC team’s commitment to quality execution.”

Empower Energies has completed over 200 MW of clean energy projects nationwide, with over 1 GW currently in development. These projects include the second largest solar canopy on the planet for one of its Fortune 100 clients. Their leadership team, which includes alumni of SunEdison, SolarCity, Ameresco, and Tesla, represents a combined 3 GW in clean energy project experience.
