July 5, 2022
Through an announcement from Governor Kathy Hochul, the NYSERDA NY-Sun program recently received an additional $1.47 billion of extended funding and 4 GW of capacity for commercial and industrial projects. This comes at the perfect time. With the new SEC guidelines on the horizon, the infusion of new program funding creates an unprecedented opportunity for C&I business owners who are looking to make the transition to solar and achieve their ESG goals.
On July 13 at 12:00 p.m., Empower Energies will host a webinar called Follow the NY-Sun: Learn About the NY-Sun Program for Solar Projects that aims to demystify the program and help C&I building owners in New York explore how they can take advantage of this opportunity.
Content Sneak-peek
The NY-Sun program’s funding capacity is allocated via a blocking system. As demand increases and the blocks fill up, more blocks are added to accommodate demand. However, the funding will eventually run out, and competition for funding is high. Just today, for example, NYSERDA added a new Block 20 at the incentive level of $0.12 per Watt with 350 MW of capacity. C&I building owners are faced with a conundrum: how can you design and develop a project quickly so that you can take advantage of the funding before it runs out?
This webinar will provide:
- A background of the NY-Sun program
- A project simulation to show the impact of the program when combined with other available incentives
- How to take advantage of the incentives available
