JPMorgan Chase
Empower Energies developed and built the solar rooftop and parking canopy project for JPMorgan Chase (“the Bank”), the largest banking institution in the United States.
The project serves over 50% of the needs at the Bank’s Discovery Business Campus, a 67-acre office complex in Tempe, Arizona where JPMorgan has over 4,000 employees. The project includes two carport and two rooftop systems electrically interconnected for a single system behind the meter. Empower Energies will also provide operations and maintenance for the project.
The completion of the Discovery project represents the first of more than a dozen solar installations Empower is currently developing and constructing for JPMorgan Chase as the exclusive renewable program manager for the Bank’s commercial sites across the U.S. At the completion of its solar deployment program, JPMorgan Chase will be one of the largest on-site corporate renewable power generators in the U.S.
Over the project’s 30-year life, it is expected to generate enough emissions-free, clean energy to avoid more than 120,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions. That’s the equivalent of planting more than 2 million trees!
